"Lutz To Participate in Samaritan's Feet Campaign to Aid Haiti"
Charlotte 49ers head coach Bobby Lutz will participate in the Samaritan's Feet campaign, once again. This time the Charlotte-based company is targeting its efforts to assist with Haiti Relief efforts. Lutz will go barefoot during Sunday's game vs. Saint Louis to call attention to the need for shoes, especially in Haiti.
Fans can help using the campaign 's "Text to Give" option. By texting "shoes" to 85944, fans can make a $5.00 donation that will be charged to the individual's phone bill. That donation will be used to buy a pair of shoes for a child in need. Fans can also visit any of the Finish Line stores to make a donation.
In addition, the 49ers student-athletes and the student-athlete advisor committee (SAAC) will be working to assist the Haiti relief efforts at Sunday's home men's basketball game. At each of the entrances to the facility, 49ers student-athletes will be collecting donations that will be passed along to the International Red Cross Relief Fund.
The 49ers face Saint Louis, Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Atlantic 10 action.
