This past July, the hearts of 2,500 impoverished children were touched with love and compassion through a trip to Guyana by volunteers and staff at Samaritan's Feet. These children received new athletic shoes and socks as Samaritan's Feet traveled into several villages and churches throughout the country.
In an orphanage in Sophia, seventy children were blessed not only with new shoes, but with music, crafts, ball games, relay races and parachute games.
A highlight of the trip was a personal meeting between the Prime Minister and a member of the Samaritan's Feet team. This discussion was hopefully one of many, with a focus on economics and bringing jobs to the Guyanese people.
One hundred Guyanese citizens from 47 local churches helped Samaritan's Feet impact those within their community. These local volunteers were well trained and organized as they washed the feet and interacted with each one of the children.
